ATHLETICS GOLD “A” FINAL

Jesolo will be the capital of Italian athletics for one weekend.

On Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September 2015, the “Armando Picchi” stadium will be trimmed with the Italian flag and host the absolute Italian championship of teams on track Gold final. Two days of competitions will assign the2015 athletics championship titles. It will be the last stage of a Championship that started lasts Spring with the regional qualification phases, in which more than 370 clubs have participated.

The best 24 Italian formations(12 men’s and 12 women’s) will compete to win the most longed for race of the season, renewing a tradition
that has been continuing since 1931, the year in which the first Championship title (at the time only men’s) in history was assigned.
Forty races - 20 men’s and 20 women’s – are in programme during the two days. For a weekend, athletics – individual sport par excellence – gives way to team work. The stands of “Picchi” stadium will be full of choruses and colours. At the finish line, in everyone’s dreams, the championship title.

The defending champions are, Atletica
Riccardi that last year in Milan won the fourth championship title in the
last six seasons, and Acsi Italia Atleticafrom Rome, who won their 13th consecutive title. Once
again they will probably be the teams to beat.

Among the 24 competing formations, there will also be a Venetian club, Atletica
Biotekna Marcon, which affirmed itself in the men’s A Gold final after the fifth
place obtained in 2014. Veneto will also be represented by Atletica
Vicentina, which qualified for the final both with the men’s formation and
women’s one, already fifth in 2014.

The direction of the Italian event is curated by a Comitato organizzatore locale (Local organisation committee) - COL – formed by Atletica Jesolo Turismo, Comitato provinciale Fidal of Venice, and the Municipality of Jesolo.
