The 13th edition of Jesolo Sand Nativity will be inaugurated on
Saturday 6 December 2014. The sand manger scenes sculpted by the best artists in the world, will be exhibited in piazza Marconi starting from 7 December 2014.
Since 2002, the best sand sculptors of the world have been meeting at the seaside resort to realise a monumental sand manger-scene. Edition after edition, the number of Sand Nativity visitors have grown more and more and now it is one of the best-known manger-scenes in Italy. Up to today, more than 900 thousand visitors have admired the special representation of the nativity.
Every year, the exhibition is enriched by a sculpture dedicated to the bringers of peace: personalities that have universally distinguished
themselves for having diffused peace among populations.
This year,this important section will represent Don Giovanni Bosco
(1815-1888) for the two-hundredth anniversary of his birth.
NOVELTY: In the Sand Nativity itinerary, some episodes taken from the life of the Saint will be represented. The participation of the Salesian world in this edition of the manger scene that celebrates the anniversary of their founder will be incisive.
As in the previous editions, the the manger scenes will be enriched with spectacular sets, hand painted by the artist Damon Farmer, which
give perspective and depth to the scenes represented with sand.
