VOLNITSA RUSSIAN POPULAR MUSIC INSTRUMENTS BAND

On Thursday 17 July at 9 p.m. piazza Torino will host the “Volnitsa” Russian popular music instruments band of the Regional Philharmonic of Krasnoyarsk.

The repertoire of the band includes original programmes for instruments and arrangement of songs. The components of the band constantly renew their programmes in order to maintain the popular music traditions. They perform with classical music, music from different places in the world, music of modern composers, modern arrangements, and jazz.

The band (artistic director A. Bulatnikov) was founded in Krasnoyarsk in 1991 and won thefirst prize of the B. Feoktistov Siberian Competition, and the South Africa Grand prize and the international competition Gold medal. During its 23 years of artistic activity the band has successfully performed in Moscow, Novosibirsk, Gorno-Altaysk, Biysk, Barnaul, Kemerovo, Kazan, Irkutsk, Norilsk, and other cities.

Andrey Bulatnikov – accordion
Vitaly Osipov – singer
Darya Popova – singer
Irina Gorbunova – piccolo domra
Konstantin Gavrin – contrabass-balalaika
Anton Kazachkov – prima balalaika
Evgeny Karlov - percussions

The musicians studied at the Music and TheatreState Academy of Krasnoyarsk and are specialised in performing music with traditional instruments, and they are singers at the Opera and Ballet Theatre of Krasnoyarsk and Regional Philharmonic of Krasnoyarsk.
