A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM

Musical Reading - Saturday 21 June at 9 p.m. in piazza I° Maggio

Performed reading enriched with original music and songs  accompany the audience to rediscover one of the greatest masterpieces of theatre literature of all times, inspired by the story of Pyramus and Thisbe narrated by Ovid and by the fascination of “The Golden Ass” by Apuleius.

Mixing myth and fairytale with everyday life without fractures and with skilled lightness, Shakespeare inserted elements deriving from classic Greek tradition and from the more popular Gaelic one of the typical English cultural heritage.

Solo voices, choral voices, chamber orchestra of woodwinds, string instruments, and piano.
